Easy Run from 9/26/16

today was an easy run. I actually got a late start due to some things here at work. But it was a good run. I felt comfortable the whole way and I negative splitted. It was the fastest I'd done this easy run in months. But I didn't over do it... that's for Tuesday. 5ish mile tempo run.

Run from 9/24/16 --- I Hate the Wind!

Seriously the wind sucks! Its always blowing here in Idaho but I guess its my bad for doing an out and back that took me back into the wind for the last 4 miles. Basically the run went pretty well. It was an afternoon run and I really felt good through the first 5-6 miles. But it was after I had been going straight into the wind for a couple of miles that I started to feel it. 7:30ish miles quickly turned into 8:40ish miles. I then spent the next few hours cramping up while laying on the sofa at home.

Temp run 9/20/16

Today was a tempo run that was supposed to be done Thursday. Just got looking at my personal schedule and realized that running a longer tempo run Thursday wouldn't work. So today I ran with the intent on having a high heart rate and mostly i did that. there was one point where I let it slip a bit and failed to keep the intensity up. It was a bit warm for September, which has been the trend this fall, but still I thought it was a really nice day to run. On another note... I need new shoes.

Run on 9/19/16 - Took it easy

Today was an oddly warm day... more that Saturday was. 75 at noon in the middle of September in Idaho. Eastern Idaho at that. Very strange. But I was planning on a simple, easy, 3 - Miler today. Didn't go hard just made sure I was constant and that my heart rate wasn't super high. Nothing really exciting to report, except I almost had a run in with a bulldozer...

Even though I took it easy, it was the fastest I have ran that route since June.

Run from Saturday 9/17/16 - Wellness Complex

Today was a nice run on a oddly warm morning. I ran up to the Wellness Complex and back home. It features a nice climb up "The Chubback Hill" which I PR'd on and wasn't even trying to. Basically it was my first actual long run in some time so I took it real easy... which showed in my pace. But isn't that how a long run should be?

Run from 9/15/16 - Pre Basketball Run

Thursdays are basketball days and today I only did an easy 3 miles. 3.1 per strava, and it was over 26 minutes. I don't try to run that slow but I guess I do sometimes. But it was a recovery run.

After words I played basketball for like 1 1/2 hours. So not sure there was much value in the recovery run.

Run from 9/14/16 - Attempt at a recovery Run

Well for my run today I was supposed to be doing a recovery after yesterdays hill workout. I put a little more into it than I thought. Was a simple run from my daughters school prior to her CC meet. Oh well, recovery tomorrow.

Hill Repeats on 9/13/16

Did some hills... 3 x .25 mile with a nice cool down. There really wasn't anything too exciting to report on this run, although it looks like the GPS wasn't extremely accurate.

Run from 9/12/16

I love being under the weather...

Not really but that's what I'm dealing with. Sickness continues to effect me. Not just with running but with sleeping. Speaking of sleeping, I'm all screwed up. Discovered we have a mouse in the house and because of that I'm not sleeping good. Just lay awake wondering what the heck the mouse is up to.

Running... so I've made some changes to my training. I've decided to incorporate some training plans that are well trusted and give them a try. Obviously I'll be adding my person spin on things and I still need to figure out how the Meanders race schedule fits, but generally speaking the next 12 months are mapped out. The goal now is to avoid injury.

For 9/12/16, I just ran 4 miles. didn't push it because of the illness. My legs are feeling good, presumably because of the lack of running for the last 2 weeks.

I don't think I'm going to do any more hard core racing this year. I was going to race a half-marathon, but I'm just not feeling it so I might bow out of that one.

9/7/16 run

There is definitely a fat chill in the air. The low this morning was 32. I think its time to get my winter gear out from wherever its hiding and start keeping some in my bag. Hopefully I wont have to use it for another month but we shall see.

For today I did a run I've done a bunch of times. Up to the ISU CC course and back. Its pretty hilly and challenging for 4.5 miles. Its nice going down on the ISU CC course because its dirt on the downhill so its a bit easier on the body. The uphills on that course are definitely something to brag about... challenging to say the least.

So I was shooting for 8:30 pace and actually bettered that. Still not feeling 100%.

Run 9/6/16

UHHHGGGGG

Yeah that about how I feel right now about this run. So this last weekend, which happened to be labor day weekend, I was sick. So sick that I really didn't want to do any thing but lay on the couch in front of the TV. I did more that that... but not much.

So for today it was just about getting out there and starting the process of getting my legs back. The run was easy.. .as is indicated by my pace. I did walk some up-hills because the energy just wasn't there. I'll go a bit harder tomorrow and Thursday.
